WHAT IS A REDUCTION? 

A reduction is where a tree or shrub requires its crown and foliage reduced in size and density.

WHY REDUCE A TREE? 

There are many reasons why a tree may require a reduction:

• A tree may need reducing to allow or improve light for the property in question 
• A tree may be have a large, overgrown crown and need to be reduced for aesthetic and/or health reasons
• A tree may need to be reduced in order to decrease it's total weight, thus improving the safety of the tree
• A tree may be diseased or suffering from decay and a reduction can help prevent or improve the situation
• A tree may be dying and a reduction is needed to save the tree
• A reduction can prevent the tree becoming a wind sail, lowering the danger of the tree collapsing
